Such skill. im humbled to the dust. :)
i thank God for the people he brought to me this week who are so single-mindedly driven by their various passions. To show me the hard work required to attain that higher level. But above all, i want a God-centered ambition.
i need to start attending to the various commitments ive been putting off.

I've got it all, but I feel so deprived
I go up, I come down
I'm emptier inside
Tell me what is this thing that I feel like I'm missing
And why can't I let it go
There's gotta be more to life
Than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me
'Cause the more that I'm trippin out
Thinking there must be more to life
Well it's life, but I'm sure
There's gotta be more to life
I've got the time and I'm wasting it slowly
Here in this moment I'm half-way out the door
Onto the next thing, I'm searching for something that's missing
I'm always waiting on something other than this
Why am I feeling like there's something I missed - (There's gotta be) More to life, Stacie Orricoive never been much of a stacie orrico fan. Her songs are too pop and teenage for my adult ears.hahaa i make myself sound so old.
But anyway. the lyrics for this song really ring true. its quite funny how God speaks to us in different ways. This week the title of this song kept playing in my head, even though i havent heard this song in a really realy long time. Decided to go look up the lyrics on a whim. And as always, He spoke at just the right time:) In the busy-ness of life, its easy to put God on hold. But after awhile, after all the ephemeral pleasures of life, the temporal highs, you realise that the only thing that truly lasts, and that truly satisfies is spending time with Him:)
its also amazing how God can use someone as young as her(she's 17 if im not wrong) to reach the world with her music.
Oh yes, here's an excerpt of an interview with Stacie Oricco about this song.
Stacie:It talks about searching for satisfaction and fulfillment in the wrong places and how we try to fill our lives with money, relationships, love, or whatever to satisfy us, and how those things aren't lasting.
How would you respond to someone who told you "there's got to be more to life." What would you say to them?Stacie: I think that's why I'm so excited about this song – for people to come and ask me, "Okay, you're talking about more to life, so what is it? What do you think it is?"
The joy of getting to express the only thing I've found in life that is lasting.
Sure, some people might respond "of course you can say that, since you've got everything going for you." But at the same time, it's that much more applicable, so I can say, "yeah I have had incredible opportunities, gotten to travel to wonderful places, and I am very fortunate.
But at the end of the day, those things aren't all fulfilling and the only thing that I've found in my life that offers ultimate peace and comfort, true love and fulfillment, is in my relationship with Jesus Christ."
